Sometimes you become consumed in the shallow temporary problems around you so much so that you forget who you are, your value and your purpose.

Writing has always been for me. I’ve always been in love with poetry/ literature but having a different mother tongue to peers meant I wasn’t excelling in language at the start of my education. The teacher who complimented me on my poetry and supported me with debating and writing was recently diagnosed with cancer. She pushed me with my work and taught me to express my feelings through words. I dispensed her End of Life medication at the pharmacy this weekend so I want to honour this amazing and beautiful woman whose belief in me meant the world.

I called her husband twice that morning. Once about the prescription. and then the second time as soon as it was ready to arrange collection but “she has passed away since”.
